The Long Story
Freshman year in High School, my friend decided to start a garage sized robotics team. He asked if I wanted to join, and the rest is history. My history to be precise. After joining more robotics teams, I eventually went on to Worcester MA. There I went to college at WPI(Worcester Polytechnic Institute) and got my degree in Robotics Engineering. The curriculum was filled with a broad range of topics. I found particular love for programming and electrical work, so I decided to also get a minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
After graduating I found a position at a Laboratory/Pharma Robotics company, HighRes Biosolutions. At HighRes I worked with off the shelf industrial robotic arms and custom devices to create custom lab setups for customers.
After HighRes I joined the team at Symbotic as the Electrical Test Engineer for the Manufacturing team. There I wrote software, procedures, and a lot of bash scripts. My main responsibility was keeping testing on the MFG floor running smoothly and designing/implementing new and better tests to reduce failure rates at MFG and at the Customer Sites.
After some time in the MFG department at Symbotic I transferred to the SAS(Safe Access Software) team. I became an Embedded Engineer working on the safety code that runs on the mobile robot platform in Symbotic systems. As I continued to learn on the team I took on additional responsibilities. I became the SCRUM Master for the team, running all Agile Events and maintaining our Backlog in Jira. As a Senior FW Engineer I spend a lot of time working on our code and our documentation.
